Job summary

Brodart is seeking a Material Handler II for ARCH, PA, USA to manage the flow of materials, stage and transport goods, and ensure accurate order fulfillment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and demonstrated proficiency with material handling systems.

Typical duties include entering data in SCS/Oracle, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining safe, clean work areas with regular attendance. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in production standards and material handling.
  • PC proficiency and familiarity with Book Order Control System.
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Flexible to safety decisions and changing work environments.
  • Effective interaction with co-workers and adherence to company policies.
  • Capable of standing/walking 8 hours, lifting up to 70 lbs, and working in a production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Flow of materials held in buffer and overcrowding.
  • Transfer of materials in totes to trucks and staging in buffer area.
  • Release of completed orders to take-away conveyor.
  • Record book order status transactions and use of Book Order Control System to obtain and update book order information.
  • Enter information into computer systems as necessary for order fulfillment in SCS and Oracle.
  • Work with co-workers to resolve issues related to overages, shortages and mis-routings.
  • May be the point of contact for special handling requests.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas.

Description
  • Flow of materials held in buffer and overcrowding.
  • Transfer of materials in totes to trucks and staging in buffer area.
  • Release of completed orders to take-away conveyor.
  • Problem resolution.
  • Recording of book order status transactions and use of Book Order Control System to obtain and update book order information.
  • Responsible to enter information into computer system as necessary for order fulfillment in SCS and Oracle.
  • Works with co-workers to resolve issues related to overages, shortages and mis-routings.
  • Performs investigations based on Oracle and SCS (conveyor) information.
  • May be the point of contact for special handling requests.
  • Responsible to perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed by supervisor.
  • Responsible for regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas, emptying trash cans and barrels and sweeping of floors, as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and a relevant amount of experience as a Material Handler III or equivalent experience.
  • Capable of performing at an advanced proficiency level of competence within production standards of efficiency and skill of Material Handler III.
  • PC Proficiency and familiarity with Book Order Control System.
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and responsive to changing work environments.
  • Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and to adhere to Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise (conveyor) and dust.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift 40 lbs and up to 70 lbs occasionally and push book trucks weighing several hundred pounds.
  • Required to float throughout the work area and move from zone to zone as workload requires.
