Job summary

Wabtec's Evident Inspection Technologies division in Waltham, MA is hiring a Material Handler II to support receiving, picking and put-away of inventory on site. This role requires performing task-oriented operations within established procedures and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in material flow.

The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and safety, with a focus on fast-paced environments and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Proficiency with MS Office and MRPs is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in stockroom or shipping/receiving environment.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Functional knowledge of MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store and distribute materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Unpack and check goods against PO invoices and work orders.
  • Maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and operate a forklift if needed.
  • Examine, stock and distribute materials on inventory and production lines.
  • Prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
  • Cycle count inventory and investigate discrepancies.

This Material Handler II position is based onsite in Waltham, MA.

Job Description

This role of the Material Handler II will have an emphasis on the receiving, picking and put away of all inventory. As a level two, this individual applies acquired job skills and company procedures to complete assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders, invoices and work orders.
  • Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
  • Lifts up to 50lbs. and may operate a forklift.
  • Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Prepares kitting packages for assembly production.
  • Cycle count inventory to ensure accuracy. Uses root cause analysis to resolve discrepancies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 1-3 years working in a stockroom or shipping/receiving environment
  • High School Diploma required
  • Functional knowledge of MRP systems preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications preferred
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Accomplished “lead-by-example” tactical change agent with strong interpersonal skills
  • Attentiveness to detail is a must
  • Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
  • Computer Skills: All Microsoft Applications
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Self-Motivated

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The pay rate for this role is currently$24.00 - $25.00 per hour. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
