Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Material Handler II to support receiving, picking and put-away of inventory. This role requires applying established procedures to complete tasks and maintain accurate records. You will work in a fast-paced environment and may operate a forklift, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay ranges between $24.00 and $25.00 per hour, plus a 5% annual bonus target. A HS diploma and basic MS Office proficiency are required or preferred, with MRPl knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years in a stockroom or shipping/receiving environment.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Functional knowledge of MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Prepares kitting packages for assembly production.
  • Counts inventory to ensure accuracy and analyzes discrepancies.

Job Description

This role of the Material Handler II will have an emphasis on the receiving, picking and put away of all inventory. As a level two, this individual applies acquired job skills and company procedures to complete assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

  • Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders, invoices and work orders.

  • Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.

  • Lifts up to 50lbs. and may operate a forklift.

  • Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.

  • Prepares kitting packages for assembly production.

  • Cycle count inventory to ensure accuracy. Uses root cause analysis to resolve discrepancies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 1-3 years working in a stockroom or shipping/receiving environment

  • High School Diploma required

  • Functional knowledge of MRP systems preferred

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications preferred

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

  • Accomplished "lead-by-example" tactical change agent with strong interpersonal skills

  • Attentiveness to detail is a must

  • Must be able to climb up and down a ladder

  • Computer Skills: All Microsoft Applications

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Self-Motivated

Pay Range $24.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience plus 5% annual bonus target.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
