Kershaw Equipment in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Material Handler for the first shift to support production by pulling documents, stocking, loading, and delivering to workstations. The role requires 1–2 years in material handling and forklift/Pallet jack experience, with a high school diploma or GED.
The position involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, maintaining safety protocols, and communicating inventory status to supervision.
A Material Handler supports production and/or specific areas of the facility by pulling document material, stocking, loading, and delivering to the proper workstation. The Material Handler must be capable of supporting all areas within the facility. This is a first shift position. 1-2 years of experience of Material Handling. 1-2 experience with Forklift, pallet jack, mobile equipment, dollies and/or crane experience.
High School Education, GED, or vocational/technical training.
Strength - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, push and pull up to 75lb.
Motion - Constant walking Frequent and sustained bending, crouching, stopping, kneeing, squatting and overhead reaching and climbing ladders.
Vision/Hearing Requirements - Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and hear audible alarms.
Works on varied surfaces, concrete floors, gravel, rail car and locomotive floors. Works at varied heights from floor level to tops of locomotives. Work in confined spaces. Non-temperate control environment, all weather conditions with high noise and high dust levels.
Safety - Safety Sensitive positions because it works in and around active tracks, rail cars, locomotives, and other moving equipment. Must abide by all safety protocols, health/medical screenings and utilize all required PPE. Included but not limited to metatarsal boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, aprons, ear protection, etc.
