Job summary

Strongwell, a leader in its industry, is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage order shipments from our facility. You will prepare packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels, and coordinate with trucking companies to ensure on-time pickup and accurate loads.

You will work closely with Production Control and Customer Service to track orders and update ship dates. In this fast-paced role, attention to detail and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Must obtain DOT Hazardous Materials certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare packing slips and bills of lading to ship product.
• Create labels for products and packages (UPS, FedEx).
• Coordinate with trucking companies on pickup schedules and load sizes.
• Liaise with Production Control and Customer Service on order status and ship dates.
• Serve as backup in other departments as needed.
• Compile data for quality assurance and year-end reports.
• Maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Overtime may be required to meet business needs.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.

• Prepare necessary paperwork (packing slips, bill of lading, etc.) needed to ship product.
• Prepare various labels needed for product and packages (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) as needed.
• Communicate with trucking companies regarding pickup schedules, size of load, ship date, etc. This requires strong organizational skills along with telephone and internet proficiency.
• Work closely with Production Control and Customer Service regarding the status of orders, order changes, ship dates and any other pertinent information needed.
• Act as backup in other departments as time and skill allows.
• Compile data for quality assurance, scrap management identification, continuous improvement projects, and prepare the needed reports compiling shipment information for year-end shipments and reports.
• Must obtain DOT Hazardous Materials certification.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while achieving accurate results. Attention to detail is critical.
• Assist in taking inventories as necessary.
• Work overtime as business needs require.
• Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
• Comply with Strongwell guidelines, rules, and procedures as contained in the Employee Handbook and miscellaneous memos.
