Job summary

Atkore Plastic Pipe Corporation in New York is seeking a production associate to join the on-site manufacturing team. You will help confirm product against schedules, perform quality control tasks, weigh and move finished goods, and assist with extrusion line operations and changeovers.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. The role offers full-time hours and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Confirm product with schedule.
• Assist with quality control duties including monitor saw cuts, pipe length, bell fit, and line spacing.
• Weigh and transport finished product.
• Cut crate boards to proper lengths and adjust if needed.
• Process re-grind / scrap pipe.
• Assist with running PVC extrusion lines.
• Help with changeovers and stringing the line downstream and through the saw.
• Identify pipe products that are out of specification.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by following procedures and rules.
• Prioritize tasks to manage time with material handling and packaging devices.
