Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking a Material Handler I, Backroom on 1st shift in Greenwood, SC. The role pays $18.11 per hour and includes eligibility for a variable incentive program. Core hours are Monday through Thursday, 5 AM to 3 PM.

You will operate forklifts and overhead cranes, load trucks, and ensure material is correctly staged and inspected for quality. The job emphasizes safety, 5S, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 months manufacturing experience preferred.
• 3 months experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift).
• 3 months experience using Eaton system controls including material management (DMM) and MRP/ERP (AS400).
• SC Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift and loading equipment to move materials.
• Perform 5S and safety duties to maintain a clean, compliant work area.
• Inspect material for quality and identify nonconforming parts.
• Support process improvements and root-cause analysis for quality issues.
• Cross-train and assist other roles as needed.
• Maintain inventory using supply chain tracking systems.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Material Handler I, Backroom 1 Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

CORE HOURS: Monday - Thursday (5AM - 3PM)

What you’ll do:

• Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
• Use a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to unload and load trucks arriving or leaving from receiving area and for placing material in the proper bin location or delivering material to the wok centers.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
• Be responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
• Cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
• Use supply chain tracking systems to maintain inventory
• Operate a forklift to move/load material and/or Gear
• Operate a Gantry style overhead crane for loading/shipment of Gear

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Minimum three (3) months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)
• Minimum three (3) months of experience utilizing Eaton system controls including material management (DMM) and MRP/ERP (AS400)
• Minimum 3 months of experience using hand and air tools.
• South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 50 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
