Position Summary
Manage and control the receipt, storage, and distribution of material purchased by the company and/or received from the Government (Government Furnished Material). Process material receipts and shipments, receive and distribute material in accordance with project requirements, and maintain various lists, databases and programs related to material control, storage, receipt and shipment. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.

  • Provides sound and independent judgment to execute company policies and procedures in support of projects/contracts.
  • Resolves issues through direct interaction with program managers, department managers, project managers, supervisors, and customers which may impact product quality, delivery, schedules, or costs.
  • Formulates, through original and independent thinking, methods and processes which improve safety, quality, or production, or decrease costs.
  • Is self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and has effective interpersonal skills when interfacing, coordinating, and dealing with customers and company personnel.
  • Has knowledge of project management, logistics management, material handling processes, and databases.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with project personnel for matters related to material shipping and receiving (e.g., status, inspection, material segregation and control, etc.), storage, and distribution.
  • Segregates and processes material receipts by Contract and Project/Job Order number. Maintains storage, shipping, and receiving areas clean and well organized to store and process incoming and outgoing material.
  • Properly stores and distributes material, maintains an accurate inventory, and records all inventory issues and returns in the inventory control system daily.
  • Maintains electronic records and logs for the receipt and issue of materials to project personnel.
  • Maintains the security of all materials, supplies, and company property under the custody and control of the Material Handler.
  • Packs and ships items as required. Ensures all outgoing shipments are packaged correctly, do not contain any Hazardous Material, and are ready for shipment by the designated time.
  • Follows proper procedures to receive, warehouse, control, and distribute Government Property.
  • Ensures Non-Ready-For-Issue (NRFI) Depot Level Repairable (DLR) are turned in to the ATAC/government representative for credit in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED

Experience

  • Minimum two years of experience working with programs related to warehouse operations, material control, and distribution, material handling tools and equipment.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, the ability to interface and communicate effectively with personnel inside and outside the organization.
  • Prior military or Government contractor experience desired.

Citizenship
Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.

Clearance
Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance issued by the U.S. DoD.
