Job summary

TransCore – Amtech Systems, LLC (AMS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Material Handler I to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You will perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing and distributing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

This position is day shift Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with responsibilities including inventory management, ERP transactions, and safe handling of materials.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of inventory management and kitting processes, including reading work orders
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with ERP systems preferred
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Pulls material for work orders and use by manufacturing and other departments
• Audits work orders and material returned from Production for accuracy
• Counts inventory and assists with cycle counts as required
• Performs work order and inventory transactions in ERP system
• Packages, palletizes, secures and labels product/material for freight shipments
• Loads and unloads trucks as required
• May operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of material storage areas and workspaces
• Follows safety procedures and regulations related to material handling activities
• May operate company vehicles (if approved driver)

Summary

Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

This position is for our day shift which is Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Pulls material for work orders and use by manufacturing and other departments.
• Audit work orders and material returned from Production for accuracy.
• Counts inventory and assist with cycle counts as required.
• Performs work order and inventory transactions in ERP system.
• Packages, palletizes, secures and labels product/material for freight shipments.
• Load and unload trucks as required.
• May operate sit down and stand-up forklifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of material storage areas and workspaces.

Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

• Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience
• Knowledge of inventory management
• Knitting Knowledge of kitting processes, including the ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Valid forklift operator’s license preferred or willing to get certification.
• Knowledge of how to pack material and product to protect from damage.
• Experience with MS Office Software and ERP desired
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and moving traffic. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
