Job summary

TransCore – Amtech Systems, LLC (AMS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Material Handler III in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You will handle shipping, receiving, storing and distributing materials with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include inventory counts, ERP transactions, loading/unloading, and coordinating with carriers. Must have 5–8 years of related experience and a valid driver’s license; forklift and HazMat certs preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of related experience is typically required.
• Valid forklift operator’s license preferred or willing to get certification.
• HazMat handling certification preferred or willing to get certification.
• Knowledge of packing material and product protection.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation and hazardous shipments.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming goods; boxing, labeling, and storing.
• Perform cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Pull material for work orders and manufacturing.
• Audit work orders and returns for accuracy.
• Record inventory and transactions in ERP system.
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and customers.
• Prepare documentation for foreign, domestic, and hazmat shipments.
• Assist with training and safety procedures; maintain storage areas.
• Load/unload trucks and operate forklifts.
• Make local pickups/deliveries as required.

Job description

TransCore – Amtech Systems, LLC (AMS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Material Handler III to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Summary

Performs, and has mastered, the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, components, supplies and equipment. Performs duties and tasks with minimum supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Receives incoming goods and products into stock, including boxing, labeling, storing, etc.
• Performs cycle inventory counts and investigate count discrepancies as required.
• Pulls material for work orders and material requests for manufacturing and other departments.
• Audit work orders and material returned from Production for accuracy.
• Conduct investigation of inventory discrepancies to help with accuracy and root cause analysis.
• Load and unload trucks as required.
• Operates sit down and stand up forklifts.
• Assist with training of other team members in performing their duties effectively and provide support.
• Communication/schedule freight and parcel shipments with carriers.
• Performs inventory, work order, sales orders and other transactions in ERP system.
• Coordination and communication with Order Admin, carriers and customers to resolve shipment issues.
• Prepares packages/documentation for foreign, domestic and hazardous material shipments as required.
• Timely review and responses to emails.
• and organization of material storage areas and workspaces.
• Follow safety procedures/regulations and maintain cleanliness related to material handling activities.
• Makes local pick-ups and deliveries as required/assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

• Typically requires a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
• Valid forklift operator’s license preferred or willing to get certification.
• HazMat handling certification preferred. or willing to get certification.
• Knowledge of how to pack material and product to protect from damage.
• Knowledge of documentation requirements for import/export and hazardous material shipments.
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Proficiency in using MS Office software (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and moving traffic. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
