Description

This position performs duties in shipping, receiving, and inventory control to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • With supervision, performs duties in warehousing, inventory control, receiving, and shipping; this includes identification and traceability along with proper handling and storage tasks.
  • Performs inventory transactions such as transfers, issues, and receipts using PC and barcode scanner.
  • Complies with safety and hazardous material handling regulations and requirements for hazardous waste management.
  • Actively participate in safety programs to promote the goal of zero incidents and injuries.
  • Maintains all aspects of workplace organization.
  • Provides clear and consistent communication on all activities to appropriate individuals.
  • Safely operates a powered industrial vehicle daily.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and work rules/ procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable operating procedures and material flow.
  • Knowledge of standard inventory procedures.

Experience/Training/Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years’ experience operating a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Desired: High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience operating a powered industrial vehicle with working knowledge of inventory procedures.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May be requested to work overtime and weekends. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, or sit for long periods of time. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Ability to wear required PPE to safely perform the job.

Special Requirements/Certification:

Candidate will be required to drive company vehicle to deliver parts to local job sites (as needed).
