Job summary

MP Systems, an OEM manufacturer serving the CNC industry in Enfield, CT, is seeking an entry-level Material Handler reporting to the Production Manager. This role learns inventory structure, assembly techniques, and contributes to timely production in a team setting.

The position requires reading BOMs, handling materials, and operating pallet jacks and other equipment with strong safety practice. Growth opportunities exist within a rapidly expanding company.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Entry-level position; prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Understanding of part numbering systems and inventory organization.
  • Knowledge of quality, health, and safety standards.
  • High level of mobility to support dynamic production needs.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and assembly hardware relevant to production tasks.
  • Understanding of quality, health, and safety standards, with commitment to maintaining compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Review production work orders and BOMs and follow documentation.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and accurately.
  • Identify and store raw materials in correct locations.
  • Communicate with team leaders regarding assembly instructions and scheduling.
  • Pass training on forklifts, cranes, balers, and compactors on site.
  • Use hand and powered tools daily and build assemblies in designated areas.
  • Use precision tools and measuring devices as needed.
  • Promote safe work practices and keep a clean, organized environment.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs individually.

Summary of Responsibility:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Material Handler is an entry level position that will work in either assembly, or shipping and receiving. This role is meant to give an individual the opportunity to learn about the inventory structure, and assembly techniques. This is meant to be a growth opportunity for someone who’s motivated, able to learn, can work in a team setting, and looking for career opportunities.

What You Will Contribute:
  • Review and follow production work orders and associated documentation (e.g., Bills of Materials).
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and accurately.
  • Identify and distinguish raw materials using part numbering systems and store in correct locations.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders regarding assembly instructions, workflow adjustments, and scheduling.
  • Will be required to pass training onsite with forklifts, cranes, baler and compactors at location.
  • Properly use hand and powered tools daily and build assemblies in designated areas.
  • Properly use precision tools and measuring devices needed per work cell or area.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Able to lift <50lbs as an individual.

Pay Range: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
