Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Material Handler to support our production processes. You will move work-in-progress material on the floor, stage finished goods, and assist with raw material receiving and preparation. You’ll also manage scrap parts and operate a forklift, plasma cutter, and acetylene torch as needed.

The role requires basic math, a high school diploma, and forklift experience. Overhead crane use (5–10 ton) and rigging may be required, with a focus on safe, efficient material flow in

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience required.
• Acetylene torch and handheld plasma experience preferred.
• Proper use and care of precision instruments.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Move work-in-progress material on the production floor and assist with finished goods staging.
• Assist with raw material receiving and preparation of materials for processes.
• Operate forklift to move materials and load/unload on production lines.
• Assist with scrap handling and paperwork for materials on the floor.
• Use overhead crane (5–10 ton) and rigging as needed during materials handling.
