Job summary

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator at our Georgia distribution center. You will operate a forklift, load and unload building materials, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while supporting inventory and distribution activities.

Key requirements include forklift experience, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and the ability to follow directions and work under pressure in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely use a forklift to transport materials and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently under pressure.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and maintain safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars, minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
