Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator for our Grand Rapids, MI distribution center. This role supports loading, unloading, and storing building materials, while maintaining safety and accuracy in paperwork and daily equipment checks.

We offer a Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, and a fixed hourly wage with potential for growth. Applicants should have at least one year of forklift or warehouse experience and be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, and safety material.
• Safe work record and stable work history.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the work area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts.
