Job summary

Wabtec in Greenville, SC is looking for a forklift operator to move materials within our manufacturing and overhaul facility. You will load/unload, stage, and prepare shipments using forklifts and order pickers.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, basic math, and ERP experience. We offer health, welfare, retirement benefits and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High school degree or 1-3 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Computer skills, including ERP systems experience, preferred.
• Basic knowledge of inventory practices, processes and procedures preferred.
• Previous forklift certification and experience required. Use of forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, etc. is required.
• Self-starter with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Team player with a desire for problem-solving and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using order picker, stand up forklift and forklift.
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials from storage to designated area.
• Secures materials from storage to designated area.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled to stock requisition or Kanban record.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information containers.
