Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator for our distribution center.

You will operate forklift equipment, load and unload materials, store and retrieve building products, and prepare shipping paperwork while upholding safety and quality standards. This role offers a fixed hourly wage, a Monday–Friday schedule, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match, life insurance, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift to transport products.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

The fixed rate is XXXX per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
