Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Material Handler to be based at Merrillville/Hobart area operations, supporting maintenance projects and inventory control. You will assist with storage, material handling, and work area preparation to keep production moving.

Responsibilities include operating PITs, loading/unloading materials, moving items between docks and manufacturing areas, and stacking/disposing of scrap. A High School Diploma or GED, forklift experience, and related training are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
• 1 Year of material handling experience in an industrial environment or equivalent training.
• Previous experience driving a side-loader forklift is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience handling long products and bundles of material is strongly preferred.
• Previous forklift experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) including Combi Lifts.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
• Stack skids, crates or parts in designated areas. Clean and dispose of scrap.
• Be able to inspect all Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) and report any issues.
