Job summary

Valmont Industries in McCook, Nebraska, is seeking a Material Handler 2 to transport products and materials within manufacturing areas and maintain storage as directed. This is a hands-on, safety-focused role. You will load, unload, and stage parts, assist with cycle counts, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Overtime may be required; starting wage is $21.23 per hour. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, read blueprints, and operate forklift and, if applicable,

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical calculations must be performed accurately.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
• Overhead crane operation (if location requires).
• Ability to operate hand and banding tools.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
• Use tape measure and gauges to measure parts.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat or cold.
• Accurate logging of inventory transactions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Move materials within manufacturing areas and maintain storage per procedures.
• Supply workstations with parts from inventory.
• Load/unload trucks and report damages or shortages.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE; use overhead crane if needed.
