Job summary

Valmont Group in McCook, Nebraska is seeking a Material Handler 2 to move materials across manufacturing areas, maintain storage, and support inventory processes. This is a full-time role with steady hours Monday through Thursday, starting pay $21.23/hour, with overtime as needed.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required, read work instructions and blueprints, and ensure safety and accuracy in material handling to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Forklift certification or the ability to acquire forklift certification.
• If location requires, ability to operate overhead cranes and acquire overhead crane certification.
• Ability to operate hand and banding tools.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work instructions, drawings, and/or blueprints.
• Ability to use a tape measure and gauges to measure parts and materials.
• Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures if applicable.
• Must be accurate in logging inventory transactions.
• Willingness to work overtime when required for business needs.

Responsibilities

• Move products and materials within manufacturing areas.
• Maintain material storage as directed by procedures.
• Assist with miscellaneous material handling as needed.
• Supply workstations with materials from storage locations.
• Locate and gather parts for production lines.
• Record part descriptions and quantities on outer boxes.
• Receive incoming material shipments and unload as needed.
• Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy where applicable.
• Assist with safety programs and maintain a clean work area.
• Take direction from supervisors and perform other duties as assigned.
