Job summary

Ferrara is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Driver to transport products and materials to and from production lines and trailers at our Forest Park, Illinois facility. This on-site role requires overtime and may include varying start/end times and weekends depending on business needs.

Hours run from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Daily tasks include loading/unloading, inventory checks, and maintaining a safe, clean area. Experience with Reach/Standup forklifts and SAP/Excel is valued.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• At least one year of warehouse experience with reach truck, standup forklift, and electric pallet jack.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily checklist form.
• Replenish fluids and generate maintenance work requests.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per procedures and regulations.
• Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.
• Receive materials from production and verify quantities.
• Load and unload trailers.
• Verify counts and report discrepancies.
• Work safely and follow GMPs.
• Assist inventory reconciliation.
• Keep area tidy.
• Maintain inventory in SAP and/or Excel.

The Material Handler/Forklift Driver is responsible for transporting products, packaging and raw materials to and from production lines, packaging areas, and trailers. Organizes packaging and return areas, loads or unloads trailers.

Ways you will make a difference

• Completes daily checklist form.
• Replenishes fluids and generates maintenance work request forms for repairs needed.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.
• Receives materials from production by verifying and identifying information and quantity of materials, placing materials in inventory.
• Load and unload trailers.
• Verifies case/pallet counts and patterns. Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor.
• Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all safety methods.
• Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assist in inventory reconciliation process.
• Maintains a clean and neat work area at all times.
• Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using SAP system and/or Excel spreadsheet.
