Job summary

Maker's Pride, LLC in Geneva, Illinois is seeking a Material Handler to store, move, and manage products in a GMP-conscious environment. You will operate forklifts, prepare orders, and maintain inventory while following safety policies and packing and labeling requirements.

Starting pay is $21.50/hr with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Overtime, full benefits, and a 90‑day eligibility window for health and retirement plans are included. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Identify, transport, pack, remove and dispose of products and materials.
• Operate forklifts, handcarts or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle and load/unload orders.
• Maintain inventory levels as directed.
• Feed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision or line leads.
• Ship and receive materials throughout the shift.
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
• Count, weigh and record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.
• Ensure product moved is identified and labeled correctly.
• Perform housekeeping to maintain 5S and keep areas clean.

Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, and handling products and materials. Material Handlers work in a structured work environment to minimize safety risks. Material Handlers will need to be reliable and able to work with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

Shift Hours

1st Shift – 5:15 am – 1:45 pm

2nd Shift – 1:45 pm – 10:15 pm

3rd Shift – 9 pm – 5:30 am

Must have stand‑up/reach truck experience to be considered!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify, transport, pack, remove and dispose of products and materials.
• Operate forklifts, handcarts or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle and load/unload orders.
• Maintain inventory levels as directed.
• Feed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision or line leads.
• Ship and receive materials throughout the duration of the shift.
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
• Count, weigh and record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.
• Ensure that product moved is identified and labeled correctly.
• Perform required housekeeping to maintain 5S and keep work areas clean, such as sweeping floors, putting trash into containers, and picking stray product up from the floor.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Must be knowledgeable in GMPs or willing to learn.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days.
• Ability to operate stand‑up and extended forklifts.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and write in English (preferred).

Job Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Previous material‑handling experience a plus, varies by location.
• This is a manufacturing environment with exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels and varying temperatures.
• This is a team environment; material handlers must work together and communicate respectfully and professionally.
• Must be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, as well as across shifts.

Physical Requirements

• Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day.
• Ability to lift up to 90 lbs assisted and 40 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand up to 80 % of scheduled time.
• Ability to walk, climb and/or balance throughout shift.

Starting Pay: Material Handler I $21.50/hr., a shift differential is offered for 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
