Job summary

Ferrara in Itasca, IL is hiring a Forklift Driver for the 2nd shift (2:30 pm–10:30 pm). The role transports products and materials between production lines, packaging areas, and trailers, and includes loading/unloading and inventory checks.

You will use SAP and Excel to track movement, maintain a clean, safe work environment, and support inventory reconciliation. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification is required and safe operation of forklift equipment.
• Proficiency in reading/writing English is required.
• Must be willing to work overtime and varied hours.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
• Able to operate a stretch-wrapper.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily checklist and replenishes fluids; generates maintenance requests.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area by following procedures and regulations.
• Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.
• Receives materials from production; verifies information and quantities; places materials in inventory.
• Loads and unloads trailers.
• Verifies case/pallet counts; reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Performs tasks safely and adheres to GMP.
• Assists in inventory reconciliation.
• Maintains inventory control using SAP and/or Excel.

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

The Forklift Driver is responsible for transporting products, packaging and raw materials to and from production lines, packaging areas, and trailers. Organizes packaging and return areas, loads or unloads trailers.

Ways you will make a difference

• Completes daily checklist form. Replenishes fluids and generates maintenance work request forms for repairs needed.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.
• Receives materials from production by verifying and identifying information and quantity of materials, placing materials in inventory.
• Load and unload trailers.
• Verifies case/pallet counts and patterns. Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor.
• Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all safety methods.
• Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assist in inventory reconciliation process.
• Maintains a clean and neat work area at all times.
• Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using SAP system and/or Excel spreadsheet.

Compensation

$25.00 per hour plus a .39 cent per hour shift differential
