Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is hiring a Material Handler for our Linden, CA facility. This hourly role follows a pay progression starting at $20.70 per hour and is paid weekly. You will help ensure materials flow through shakers and mixers, maintain a clean work area, and assist with basic equipment housekeeping.

The position requires lifting at least 50 lbs, ability to work nights/weekends, and willingness to work in varying weather conditions across shift schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces and lifting at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of duties.
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Opens containers using hand tools.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Loads materials into vehicles and secures with straps to prevent shifting during transit.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites using hand truck or dolly.
• Secures lifting attachments and signals crane operators to move loads to destination.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or hoist and cleans work area to assist operators.
• Assembles crates for products using hand tools and precut lumber.
