Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon in Decatur, TN seeks a Material Handler to move, store, and manage materials for transformers. You will pull orders, deliver production materials, stage finished goods, and maintain safety and quality standards.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and strict adherence to safety policies. On-site role with day shift Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:30pm; strong teamwork and attention to detail expected.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience in material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
• WMS experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
• Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
• Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
• Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Physical requirements: lift 50lbs, stand/walk for long durations, climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders from inventory and deliver production materials as needed.
• Stage finished product for final distribution and shipments.
• Maintain in-process inventory at work centers and open materials.
• Document materials and record units delivered and locations.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by packing, crating, and loading.
• Maintain material-handling equipment with pre-use inspections.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and signal others to move materials.
• Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity.
• Verify inventory by physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Store items in orderly locations and label units.
• Handle documentation of work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
• Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts.
• Assist with inventory control and audits.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other duties as assigned.
