Job summary

Leggett & Platt in Michigan is seeking a Material Handler Water Spider to receive, unpack/pack material, palletize, count verification audits, and data entry. This role delivers directly to the work centers and does not drive a hilo.

You will pull material to production areas for scheduled jobs and maintain accurate records of movements. You will also keep stock levels, observe PPE guidelines, and support inventory control while complying with safety, quality, cost and delivery requirements in a

Qualifications

• Solid work history including related material handling experience.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedule, inventory reports, packing lists and check-in incoming material and sign for same.
• Must demonstrate a good attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to exhibit good judgment related to safety, quality, cost and delivery of parts, processes and product.
• Basic math, computer and keyboarding skills to work within the ERP/MRP system.

Responsibilities

• Transports materials including fabricated and vendor parts, scrap, finished goods.
• Maintains minimum stock in production area to ensure continuous production and reports any part shortages to their lead or supervisor.
• Follows PPE guidelines and safe operation with hand truck or carts with regard to pedestrian traffic, factory property and material being transported or handled.
• Duties as assigned by manager or supervisor; to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
