Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Material Handler at the Virginia Beach Support Center (Finance). Responsibilities include receiving and transferring donated goods, operating material handling equipment, and assisting leadership as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), at least 1 year of related experience, and the ability to pass a criminal background check. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• 1 year of related field experience required.
• No professional certifications required; criminal background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated goods into proper containers for transfer.
• Safely uses material handling equipment to transport goods to designated areas.
• Load trailers and containers when required.
• Follow procedures for safe disposal of waste and recycling.
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas inside and outside the facility.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and cover additional duties as needed.
