Qualifications

  • Lifting up to 30 pounds to total height of six feet.
  • Walking/standing for up to 11 hours per day.
  • 3–5 years of warehouse/material handling experience with RF scanners preferred.
  • Forklift certified or capable of being certified (1–3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Pull orders to ship using the dcLINK system and handle special requirements for the order.
  • Load and unload trucks and inspect trailers for loading product.
  • Move finished goods from production line and stage on a trailer for shipment.
  • Inspect incoming unloaded product for damage and ensure all paperwork is completed.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy using the dcLINK system to scan, move, and track shipments.
  • Verify components of sales orders are present to ship.
  • Report safety concerns and protect warehouse contents as needed.

Job DescriptionPosition TitleMaterial HandlerDepartmentWarehousePosition SummaryResponsible for providing support to the Warehouse Manager and/or Shipping Coordinator on a daily basis for shipping/receiving of goods by moving finished goods from the production line, placing finished goods on a trailer and/or unloading finished goods from the trailer and staging in the warehouse. In addition, they are responsible for all outbound shipment staging and loading as well as inbound raw material handling.Essential FunctionsNot all functions are performed by all material handlers. Functions depend on warehouse location, but all Material Handlers must be able to perform all functions due to the team concept of the warehouse. Responsible for pulling orders to ship using the dcLINK system and for any special requirements for the order they are pulling. These requirements include, but are not limited to: re-labeling, re-wrapping, checking customer codes, re-stacking, adding pallet hangers or labels, or any other requirement as instructed by the Customer Service notes attached to each order.Responsible for loading and unloading trucks and for inspecting the trailers that they are loading the product into.Responsible for moving finishing goods from production line and staging on a trailer for shipment to outside warehouse.Responsible for inspecting all product being unloaded from a truck for damage, that appropriate paperwork is completed, and that all documents associated with the shipment have been turned in for receiving purposes.Assures inventory accuracy and records by correctly using the dcLINK system to scan in all finished goods, moves to new locations, all stages for shipment, and all outbound shipments.Verify that all components of the sales order are present to be shippedTakes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss, and reports any damage or lost product to Shipping/Warehouse Manager or Shipping Coordinator.Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)Other duties as assignedPPE Required – Requirements are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel-toed shoes, hairnet, beardnet (if employee has chin hair greater than 1/8 inch).Authorities:Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to managementReport any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazardIdentify nonconforming product and segregate into appropriate containment bins so as to not become part of the finished product. This includes making the personnel aware of this nonconformance for further actionPosition/Qualification RequirementManual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.Wrist-Finger Speed - The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.Lifting Requirements - Ability to lift 30 pounds over head to total height of six feetWalking/Standing-Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 11 hours per day.Warehouse Material Handling – 3-5 years of warehouse and/or material handling experience using RF bar code scanners preferred.Forklift certified - 1-3 years of forklift experience.
