Job summary

Amcor is seeking a production associate in Kentucky to support assembly and packaging of products. You will install gaskets, lids, and handles while keeping up with production machine cycles, and prepare labels for proper identification.

The role requires maintaining a clean work area and assisting with training, with emphasis on safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. The position involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working with PPE.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced production environment preferred.
  • Must stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work independently or in a team, and adapt to a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect product to ensure quality and set aside items that do not meet standards.
  • Assemble product by installing gaskets in lids and handles and cycle with production machines.
  • Prepare product identification labels and packaging per customer instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Assist with training associates and respond to safety, maintenance, and quality concerns.

Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.Work in a professional manner with other associates.Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.Inspect product to insure quality; set aside product that is below quality standards.Work closely with Leads and alert the Team Leader or Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.Notify the Team Leader of any safety, machinery, raw material, quality, preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, packaging or documentation concerns.Document information correctly on the reports for production and any downtime.Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles.Flame containers and lids when required.Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders.Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.When the machine experiences an interruption in production, utilize time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the Shift Supervisor.Responsible for housekeeping within working area of assigned machine.Assist with training associates as needed.Various other duties as assigned.EDUCATIONAL, SKILL, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent.Prior experience in fast-paced production environment is highly preferred.Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.Good hand-eye coordination is required.Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.Must be able to keep-up with the fast-paced production cycles.Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.Able to tolerate constant repetition.Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holiday and over-time.Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.Good communication skills-verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate.Ability to work well independently or in a team environment; displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
