Job summary

Amcor LLC in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a safety-conscious manufacturing operator to support production. You will follow safety, food safety, quality, and plant rules, operate equipment, and ensure proper handling of materials.

Responsibilities include operating shrink wrap machines, resin handling systems, forklift operations, transporting pallets, and preventing nonconforming product from shipping. Team members must pass a drug screen and PIT license tests as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of passing a written basic skills test with a score of 75% or better.
  • Capable of operating a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) in a safe and cautious manner; must pass PIT operator test and obtain Berry PIT license.
  • Read, write and speak English.
  • Negative drug screen test results.
  • Attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
  • Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
  • Supply machines with required and correct materials.
  • Transport finished goods pallets to staging area as directed.
  • Safely operate shrink wrap machines and document alarms or nonconformities as directed.
  • Operate resin handling system including bulk rail car unloading system, silo, bin, storage, and conveying system from bins to machines.
  • Transport nonconforming / rejected product to/from hold areas as required.
  • Collect and move scrap items to the appropriate scrap area.
  • Operate grinder, clear jams, clean grinding area, if applicable.
