Job summary

Briggs & Stratton in Auburn, AL seeks a Material Handler to manage inbound/outbound materials, support production, and coordinate order fulfillment. You will use Excel and SAP in daily tasks and must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities include resolving material handling exceptions, cycle counting accuracy, and collaboration with multiple departments. Prior forklift experience is preferred and a General Education Degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves exceptions to incoming materials processing.
  • Processes returns in business software and coordinates with other departments.
  • Monitors production and ensures inventory is on-hand as needed.
  • Cooperates with departments to fulfill customer needs including orders and expediting incoming orders.
  • Coordinates cycle counting accuracy and related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities
  • Resolves exceptions to incoming materials processing
  • Processes customer returns in business related software and work with other departments to resolve
  • Monitors production and insure sufficient inventory is on-hand and available as needed
  • Works with various departments to fulfill customer needs including maintaining customer orders and expediting incoming orders
  • Responsible for the coordination of, and accuracy of cycle counting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operator forklift
  • Computer skills including; Excel and SAP
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education

Experience Requirements
  • Previous material handling experience preferred
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Some physical demand; often lifts light weight material. Rarely lifting/moving average weight (25-50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.

Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)

Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours)

Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)

Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
