Job summary

Briggs & Stratton in Auburn, AL is seeking a maintenance technician to support production equipment. You will perform setup, maintenance, and repair of a variety of machinery to ensure product quality, safety, and uptime.

The role requires hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, the ability to read schematics, teamwork and communication, and the capacity to lift and operate equipment. Prior experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics systems for a variety of equipment
• Performs various machining or bench operations to alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges and guarding
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment; performs preventative maintenance
• Responsible for statistical process charting, interpretation, and trend-analysis in order to perform process or equipment adjustments to bring parts into specification
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

• Intermediate troubleshooting skills using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic knowledge

• Ability to operate forklift
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

High School diploma in equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

1.5 years of technical experience using mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills

Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
