Job summary

Marathon Cheese Corporation is seeking reliable Material Handlers to join our Booneville, MS production team. Starting pay is $19+ per hour, with a 2nd shift differential of $1.00/hour and a 3rd shift differential of $1.50/hour.

The schedule includes first through third shifts, with weekend variability depending on production. You will open product, feed the cheese onto the line for wrapping, monitor packaging quality, move pallets, and assist other positions as needed while maintaining GMP,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior manufacturing/packaging experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Open product, feed cheese onto the production line for wrapping and packaging, and adjust cutting equipment.
• Comply with GMP, SQF, and established safety rules and regulations.
• Move pallets, perform basic cleanup, and assist other positions as needed.
• Pack cheese into boxes, stack on pallets, and inspect seals and dates.
• Operate box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment; perform sanitation.

Job description

We are currently seeking Material Handlers. Starting pay rate is $19+ per hour. Shift differential is an additional $1.00 per hour for 2nd Shift and $1.50 per hour for 3rd Shift.

Core Hours

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
*Saturday hours are generally 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.*

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
*Saturday hours are generally 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.*

3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.
*Saturday hours are 6:00 pm to 12:00 am or until sanitation is complete.*

***Please note we have a Monday night start for 3rd Shift***

*Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.*

Duties

• Opening product, feeding cheese onto state of the art production line for wrapping and packaging, and adjusting cutting equipment.
• Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and established safety rules and regulations.
• Moving pallets, basic cleanup/sweeping and assisting other positions as needed.
• Ability to pack cheese product into boxes, stack boxes on pallets and inspect packages and boxes for good seals and code dates.
• Understand and utilize box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Perform sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed.

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player.
• Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations
• Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors and the public.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred . Education beyond High School would be a plus. Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus. Forklift experience is desirable.

Working Conditions

Work inside a clean manufacturing environment. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
