Job summary

Bedford123 is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to coordinate material movement between departments, print pick tickets, and perform computer transactions. You will assist during peak times with material handling equipment and help ensure schedules are met.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and forklift certification is a plus. The role requires safety awareness and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sort questionable materials per Quality Control's request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods.
• Assist during daily peak times to operate material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensure good communication and feedback with management, shift employees, and between shifts.
• Assist supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, training needs and interviewing/hiring.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
• Follow safety procedures, wear PPE, identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement; propose changes to Materials Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Some physical demand, often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
