Cornerstone Building Brands in Gaffney, SC is hiring for a 3rd shift machine operator who will ensure presses run smoothly and materials flow to customers. Base pay is $17 per hour plus a $0.75 shift differential, with weekly pay and benefits start day one.

You will handle forklift operations, support multiple presses, maintain safety and 5S standards, and collaborate with supervisors to adjust priorities. The role requires forklift certification, good attendance, and strong communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate molding presses and supply materials to presses as needed.
• Transport finished skids and manage scrap changes promptly.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors on kanban boards and priorities.
• Maintain safety, 5S housekeeping, and report safety issues immediately.
• Assist in breaks, cover multiple presses, and support daily priorities.

JOB DETAILS

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7am

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for ensuring that the machines/operators are serviced as the “internal customer”. This will require direct communication skills, managing time, managing organization of work area, managing movement of products, changing of priorities to satisfy customer demands, and knowing all safety, departmental, and company procedures.

• Ensures that finished good skids are transported to respective area in a timely fashion
• Ensures that scrap gaylords are changed out in a timely fashion
• Responsible for material & color changes on molding presses
• Responsible for supplying necessary materials to all presses including resin, cardboard, skids, etc
• Works closely with shift supervisors on kanban boards and shifting priorities as needed
• Reports any safety violations or issues involved with the machine or work area to the supervisor as quickly as possible
• Help promote good housekeeping within assigned area through participation in assigned 5S zone
• Must be able to operate all presses to assist with breaks when necessary
• Work closely with department supervisor and team leader on daily priorities, obstacles preventing product from getting to the customer, or any additional support needed on the floor
• Advise department supervisor and/or team leader when caught up and able to assist in other areas

Qualifications

• 2 yrs minimum Forklift experience required
• Must obtainCornerstone Building Brands certified forklift license.
• Must have past history of exceptional attendance and work habits including self-motivation
• Must have good communication skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Must have machine operator experience
• Must be able to operate all the molding machines in the department.
• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of leadership, good organization skills, judgment, ability to get the job done, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• The physical demands of this job will require an individual to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
