Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials at our Sedalia, MO site. The role reports to Fabrication Supervisor and involves handling a variety of materials and related clerical duties.

The candidate will ensure accurate shipping/receiving processes, operate forklifts and related equipment, and support logistics within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• One year of shipping/receiving experience or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
• Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
• Candidate must also pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare against records.
• Determines method of shipment; prepares materials for shipping and forms.
• Provides on the job training to lower level employees and resolves problems.
• Operates material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
• Participates in routing, counting and inspecting items while loading/unloading trucks.
• Transports high technology equipment and supplies to customers; secures cargo properly.
• Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests.
• Participates in ordering or purchasing standard stock items.

Position Summary

The Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Position Responsibilities

• Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records; examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
• Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates; prepares materials for shipping by weighing, packaging and stamping; prepares necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
• Provides on the job training to lower level employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/materials handling.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
• Participates in routing, counting and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks; delivers and returns items.
• Transports high technology, high dollar cost equipment and supplies to customers; secures cargo properly and safely.
• Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests.
• Participates in ordering or purchasing standard stock items within established procedures and limits.
