Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for weighing gram bags for compound batches and unloading bulk raw materials from tanks, railcars and trucks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Ability to work overtime is required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs.
  2. Accurately weigh ingredients for gram bags by following recipe to properly supply mixers.
  3. Operation of all bulk unloading systems to transfer delivered blacks, clays and oils into bulk storage.
  4. Order raw materials as needed.
  5. Manage inventory of raw materials, incoming supplies and needs of the mixers.
  6. Sample and identify raw materials. Confirm quality.
  7. Keep area clean.
  8. Must use frequent physical effort to perform job duties.
  9. Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
  10. Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines

  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
  2. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
  3. Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
  4. Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
Experience
  • Previous experience in manufacturing preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
  4. Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
