Job summary

Old Castle Building Envelope in Newnan, GA seeks a Material Handler 2 to accurately package frames, prep orders for shipment, and move materials safely around the facility.

You will support production by staging materials, maintain an organized workspace, and follow all safety and quality requirements. This role is ideal for someone safety-minded, detail-focused, and able to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a manufacturing or production facility.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Able to stand 8-10 hours on concrete floors.
• Comfortable with safety gear and PPE.
• Read and follow written instructions and verbal directions.
• Team player who can work with others.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Pack aluminum extrusions using a box knife, cardboard and tape.
• Prepare boxes for shipment and verify orders.
• Ensure quality and correct documentation.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler 2 is focused on accurately packaging frames, preparing orders for shipment, and safely moving materials throughout the facility. Supports production by staging and delivering materials, maintaining an organized work area, and following all quality, safety, and production requirements. The Material Handler 2 reports to the Custom Door Fabrication Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who is safety-minded, detail-focused, a team player, and enjoys working in a manufacturing environment. A vital member of the Door Fabrication Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job Highlights

• Full Time – 1st shift - 10 hours (5:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday)

Job responsibilities include:

• Material handling - moving packed metal product
• Pack aluminum extrusions using a box knife, cardboard and tape
• Prepare boxes for shipment to customers. Verify all orders before they are shipped (shipping address, parts, and correct quantity)
• Ensures quality in the process including correct documentation and verification of orders
• Follow directions and communicate well with peers and management
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Work with others in a team environment
• Ability to wear all safety wear including hard hats, steel toe boots with metatarsals, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, Kevlar sleeves and long pants.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Requires constant reaching, handling and grasping while turning of upper body while moving and lifting.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• The ability to safely perform tasks, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and correct or report hazards in the workplace.
• Stable work history with at least one (1) year of previous work experience in manufacturing or a production facility.
• Ability to read written instructions and take verbal directions.
• Ability to use a hand pallet and or motorized pallet jack.
