Penguin Random House LLC is hiring for a Material Handler on the 1st shift in Reno, NV. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, palletizing shipments, packing orders, and ensuring a safe, orderly workspace.

Typical hours are 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday through Friday, with daily shipping duties and light material prep. The position offers an hourly wage of $17.20 and a benefits package with a focus on a steady, team-based distribution operation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform simple math.
• Must regularly lift cartons up to 35 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must work Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm and maintain safety in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Palletize cartons and prepare cartons to ship.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform product movement or other special work as requested by supervisor.
• Pick orders and pack books into designated cartons.
• Assemble/disassemble all needed materials for prepacks and assortments.
• Wrap small orders, apply proper postage and labels, tape packages and take to shipping.
• Weigh and apply postage to all publicity mailings and route to shipping.
• Operate equipment such as tape and price sticker machine.
• Fill completed cartons with bubble wrap in final pack.
• Show initiative to work with little direct supervision.
