Job summary

Penguin Random House LLC is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd shift in Reno, NV. The role runs Monday through Friday, 10:30am to 6:30pm, at an hourly rate of $19.35. Responsibilities include palletizing, packing, and preparing cartons for shipment, while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Experience with basic arithmetic and ability to lift heavy cartons (up to 50 lbs) is required. Additional duties may include picking orders, assembling prepacks, and applying postage and labels

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform simple math.
• Regularly lift cartons up to 35 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to operate packaging and shipping related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Palletize cartons and prepare cartons to ship.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform product movement or other work as requested by supervisor.
• Pick orders and pack books into designated cartons.
• Assemble/disassemble materials for prepacks and assortments.
• Wrap orders, apply postage and labels, and tape packages for shipping.
