Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a packing/shipping associate in Spokane Valley, WA. You will prepare customer orders for shipping and assist production, using various saws and tools as needed, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read instructions, basic math, and willingness to work irregular hours. Forklift certification is preferred, with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Language: read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Math: basic arithmetic operations.
• Reasoning: follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Physical: lift up to 50 pounds.
• Certification: Forklift certification preferred.
• Other: ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Job Function

• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $18.55/Hr. - USD $23.82/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
