Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. in Saint Charles, MO, seeks a Warehouse/Packaging Associate to prepare customer orders for shipping and support production by packing, labeling and stacking materials.

You will operate packing tools, maintain a clean workspace, and follow safety and quality policies. Lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Language: Ability to read simple instructions and memos.
• Mathematics: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Reasoning: Carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Physical demands: Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Certificates: Forklift Certification, Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders for shipping and supporting production.
• Build skids or boxes for packing and shipping.
• Operate basic packing tools and banding equipment as needed.
• Perform quality inspections to maintain standards.
• Label shipments and maintain proper records.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow policies.
• May involve lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Function

Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

Essential Duties

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.
