Material Handler - 1st Shift

Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler at our Turners Falls, MA facility. The role involves various duties including measuring, inspecting, testing, and re-spooling wire and cable in preparation for shipping or subsequent operations.

Minimum Hourly Rate: $19.81/hour

Job Duties

1. Work from material movement documents, instructions, and computer scanning devices.
2. Transfer wire manually or with a forklift as instructed.
3. Ensure proper transfer of products.
4. Maintain reels and pallets for assigned tasks.
5. Weigh and record scrap materials.
6. Detect and report defective materials or equipment issues.
7. Follow safety rules and keep work areas clean.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. 1-3 months of transferable experience.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Team player with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
5. Knowledge of arithmetic, decimals, fractions, and use of measuring instruments.
6. Moderate physical effort and alertness required; exposure to noise, fumes, dust possible.
7. PIV training and certification post-hire.
