thyssenkrupp Materials NA in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Material Handler to move raw materials, finished products and equipment on the warehouse floor using a forklift, under direct supervision.

The role involves loading and unloading trucks, selecting and packing orders, performing cycle counts, inspecting forklifts, and supporting safety, ISO and 6S initiatives. First shift pay up to $25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Must be able to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions.
• Safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, finished products, and equipment on the warehouse floor using a forklift.
• Load and unload trucks; verify items loaded/unloaded.
• Select, pack, and prepare orders; may cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Perform cycle counts and identify defective material.
• Inspect forklift at start of shift and report issues.
• Support health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives.

Job Description

We are looking for a Material Handler to support our new warehouse in Grand Rapids, MI. 1st shift pay up to $25.00 per hour

Key Accountabilities

• Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
• Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
• Loads and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Completes cycle Counts.
• Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
• Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
• Performs general clean up.
• Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
• Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.
• Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.
