Description

• Job Title: Material Handler
• Location: Chestertown, MD
• Department: Distribution
• Reports To: Distribution Manager
• Pay Rate: $17/hr

Schedule/Hours

1st Shift (7am - 3:15pm), Monday through Friday.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Fulfills raw material requests for production.
• Places finished goods and raw materials into the racking.
• Cross-train on all warehouse forklifts.
• Consolidates materials within the EM BINS.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in the EM Warehouse.
• Assists Marketing and R&D with material requests.
• Assists Shipping with order requests.
• Uses Epicor to locate item BINS.
• Returns raw materials from production to existing BINS.
• Maintains pallet availability for production.
• Assists with loading/unloading trucks as needed.
• Fills in for Receiving Floater as needed.
• Performs cycle counts as necessary.
• Maintains an accurate transaction log.
• Assists with inventory accuracy.
• Wraps pallets for outsourcing/outbound freight as needed.

Miscellaneous

• Participates in lean activities, including lean training and events such as kaizen or a 5-day event.
• Engages in 5-S programs and DMAIC processes to improve departmental and personal efficiency.
• Reports issues related to production, equipment, safety, or personnel to the Coordinator/Manager.
• Provides feedback for additional training needs and seeks such training.
• Assists in other department activities and floats to other production areas as needed.
• Complies with all company policies, including safety and personnel policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned, which may or may not be essential functions.

Requirements

Qualifications include general computer knowledge and typing skills. Must be able to drive, be DOT certified, and maintain a good driving record. Physical requirements include significant walking, standing, moving materials, transporting up to 50 pounds, moving objects over 110 lbs, and operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
