Job summary

OBE in Covington, GA is seeking a Material Handler I to move glass and metal products through our plant. You will off-load and load items, label and tag shipments, read measurements, and report to the Production Supervisor.

This role requires attention to safety and quality, reliability, and a willingness to work overtime in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Previous production/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours on a concrete floor.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual whohas an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
