Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Material Handler I to move material such as glass and metal through the plant, aiding production and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Starting pay is $24 per hour. The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and work overtime as needed, with opportunities for growth within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on a concrete floor for 8–10 hours per day.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Move material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant.
• Unload/load the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and report to supervisor.
• Read work orders and follow job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic measurements while using a tape measure.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Team, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
