Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in the United States is seeking a Material Handler I to move glass and metal materials through the plant, assisting production and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will read work orders, label and package products, and use a tape measure to verify measurements while supporting a team-focused, pay-for-performance culture with opportunities for raises and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on a concrete floor for 8–10 hours per day.
• Able to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Move material between positions to expedite products.
• On/off-load products from tables, rolling racks, trucks, or wood crates.
• Read and follow work orders and safety/quality standards.
• Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read basic measurements with a tape measure.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Starting Pay Rate: $26.70 per hour

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
