Job Description: Material Handler

Location: East Syracuse, NY 13057

Pay Rate: $21.50/hour

Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Working Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 40 hours/week\ Lunch Break: 30 minutes

Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, handling, storing, transferring, and maintaining inventory of raw materials within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical warehouse. The role requires adherence to SOPs, cGMP guidelines, documentation standards, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and delivery vehicles.
• Receive, inspect, store, and transfer GMP raw materials.
• Maintain inventory records and transactions using SAP.
• Handle materials in cold rooms and freezers.
• Follow SOPs, cGMP requirements, gowning procedures, and PPE guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Report safety, quality, and equipment-related issues to management.
• Communicate operational updates and work effectively within a team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
• Pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP and basic computer applications preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow written instructions and maintain accurate documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally without assistance.
• Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
• Repetitive use of hands, arms, and wrists.
• Ability to work around hazardous materials, acids, caustics, and extreme cold temperatures.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work in classified and unclassified areas.
