Job summary

Specialty Building Products (SBP) is hiring for a full-time warehouse associate in the New York area. You will load, unload, and move material, pull daily orders, and ensure accurate inventory while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Experience in warehouses and with engineered lumber is preferred. Forklift experience and certification are helpful but not required; basic math and measurement skills are essential for accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification are preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load/unload, move, stage, pull orders and transport material.
• Maintain clean and organized warehouse area with correct product placement.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and team to complete workload.
• Provide accurate, timely service to customers with attention to detail and quality.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and trace issues.
• Read tickets and product codes; learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Read a tape measure and accurately pull daily orders.

Job description

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material. Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products.
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Must be able to read a tape measure. Accurately pull daily orders.

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.

Pay Rate $19-$23/Hr. based on experience.
